Tarique too have wrong possession/ownership of party- not my party, it must be our party

We all know that leader say “We”, boss says” I”.  Similarly leader should say our, not mine in case of possession of party.  My party, my organization is a wrong possession/ownership, not only wrong  but very dangerous possession/ownership. If any one thinks that this is my party, then he/she can do whatever he/she wants, can become whatever wants to be.  When some one have "My party possession", then he/she expects that whomever he/she appoints in whatever position, his supporters should /must accept it.  But if leader has “our party” possession, then he thinks to appoint such people in important position whom most people will accept.

 If we look back, we will see the dangerous consequences of such my party possession. I read one book, edited by Ramendro Majumder, Which contain many of the lectures of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In that book, every time Sheikh Mujib referring to AL, he is saying” My party’, not a single time “our party”. We all know where such possession sent him, what he became finally. He became president, Prime Minister whatever he wanted.

In this interview with NTV, we also hear whenever Tarique Rahman is referring to BNP, every time he is saying my party. (But when he was referring to four party alliances, he is saying our alliance).  This is wrong possession of the party. Such wrong possession may not make him like elected Dictator Sheikh Mujib or lead him to 15 August but it will hinder his becoming good leader, great leader. However,  Some people may say that such wrong possession might have played  role in making  some so called reformists  during the last CTG.

 If we look in The Holy Quran, we never see Allah is using me or My When He is referring to something in His possession or something He is doing. Always using plural, we do it or did it or this or that is ours.  He always includes the angels by whom he executes everything though He can do whatever He wants without the help of anyone/anything.

 We have great lesson from Allah’s such possession. Leader has much more to learn from it.

Humility - Another strength of Tarique Rahman

In its simplest form, humility means  being modest and respectuful.  This is importnat for leaders. Because if  a leader  can not respect others, he will not get respect from others  in the long run. Being humble also means , some one is not egoist  or arrogant.

If we   review  Tarique Rahman's  talk, speech and  newspaper reports  on  his  activities, we never  found anything that shows his disrespect for any one, any leader from  other parties.   I think, he has got this quality from his family. His mother also never shows disrespect to any one  by attacking anyone personally in her speech.

 Recent report based on wikileaks shows another form of humility of Tarique Rahman where he says none is irreplaceable. This is another form of his humility/humbleness.

  However, from leadership point of view, we need to learn more about humility.   Youtube is a great source for such  videos.

Evaluation of Tarique Rahman as Leader 1: His Best Strength

Every people have strength and weakness in his charachter. The more we know our strength and weakness, the  better it is for us.  This is more relevant for leaders.  So  I would like to  discuss  strength and weakness of Tarique Rahman  as leader  so that   people surrounding him can  help him  better.  If  he himself come across this evaluation , he can  know huimself. "Know thyself"- is very important. if we don't know ourselves, it is difficult to know other people, understand other people, control other people and lead other people.

"Nothing so conclusively proves a man's ability to lead others as what he does from day to day to lead himself"- Thomas J. Watson, president of International Bussiness Machines(IBM).

 If we want to look one's day to day life, the most important thing to look is how he can utilize his  time, how much control he has on himself  become evident   from his time management skill.   When he wake up, he goes to sleep and can he join programs on time, etc reveals his  control over himself and understanding of importance of time, most scarce and limited resource which  none can expand for himself from 24 hours, can't borrow from others however wealthy he may be. If some one  can  join programs on time,  live daily life according to a routine, it reveals his  "self discipline"- important criteria  for leader as said  by  leadership expert John C. Maxwell in his book " Developing the leader within you".

 Now look at Tarique Rahman .  How  much importance he gives to time,  how much control he has  on himself  and how much disciplined  he is ?  I  never meet Tarique Rahman personally.   So little information about his  day to day life.  But  if we know how to derive conclusion from  little  information, then i have one example in front of me  and that's enough to know answer of the above three questions.  Here is that little information.

"“রাজনীতির দলীয় বিতর্কে যাব না। কিন্ত বুকে হাত দিয়ে বলতে পারি, বাংলাদেশের রাজনীতিতে নতুন এক অধ্যায়ের জন্ম দিয়েছেন তারেক রহমান। কোনো অনুষ্ঠানে দেরি করে যাওয়ার নজির তার নেই। শুধু নিজের সময়ানুবর্তিতাই নয়, নেতাকর্মীদেরও সেভাবে পরিচালনা করেছেন তিনি। বিএনপির ইউনিয়ন প্রতিনিধি সভা কোনটি কতক্ষণ হবে, কতজন বলবেন- সব ছিল পূর্বনির্ধারিত। অনুষ্ঠানের শুরু থেকে খাওয়া-দাওয়া, থাকার জায়গা, ঢাকায় ফেরার সময়ঃ সব কিছু ছিল ঘড়ি-ধরা নিয়মে। ইউনিয়ন প্রতিনিধি সম্মেলন উপলক্ষে তারেক রহমানের সঙ্গে প্রায় নয় হাজার কিলোমিটার ভ্রমণ করেছি। এতগুলো দিনে, এতটা পথে কখনোই তাকে দেরি করতে দেখিনি। এটি তাঁর ক্যারিশমার একটি দিক।"

If self discipline of some one is not that much high, doesn't give so much importance to time, none can  show such   discipline  in long journey of 9,000 kilometers.  None can  become such disciplined  by one day, all on a sudden. 

 So self discipline is the best strength of Tarique Rahman. I am saying  this is the best strength because , based on this  strength he can    strengthen his other strength and   improve in areas where he is weak. Gradually  I will discuss his other strength and weakness Inshallh.  

 May Allah give me time  and help Tarique Rahman to foil all conspiracy against him. If he were a weak leader, none would care about him and  talk about him and try to destroy him.
